Jim Silvestri graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1988, magna cum laude, and passed the Nevada Bar in October 1988. Prior to that he received his Master of Arts in economics from The Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Silvestri completed a Federal judicial clerkship with the Honorable Roger D. Foley. Thereafter, he has practiced primarily in the area of civil litigation including insurance defense, insurance coverage and insurance bad faith.
Mr. Silvestri has successfully litigated several cases involving breach of contract, insurance bad faith, insurance coverage, construction defects, defamation, property damage (including large commercial and residential fires), and catastrophic personal injuries in both State and Federal courts. He has also successfully prosecuted and defended appeals in the Nevada Supreme Court and United State Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Silvestri has lectured many times in the area of insurance bad faith, insurance coverage and other legal areas.
Mr. Silvestri is a native Las Vegan. Mr. Silvestri is involved in numerous community activities. Currently, he is Chairman of the Advisory Council of Bishop Gorman High School and Legal Counsel for Boy Scouts of America–Las Vegas Area Council.

Mr. Silvestri is married and has five children.
